Lab 1 Studio Photography
For my first Studio Photography lab we were working with Natural Light.I completed an indoors task where I selected a subject in this case my classmate Sam and placed him at the window in the classroom. The camera I used for this lab work was a NIKON D3000.
In this first photo I placed Sam 90 degrees parallel to the window where the natural light was coming from. As you can see the light is hitting the right side of his face while the left side is shadowed.

In the second picture I have included the subject is turned 45 degrees towards the natural light coming from the window. As you can see the natural light is hitting most of the subjects face. There is a smooth progression of light to dark tones.

In the third photo I have selected the subject is facing the natural light with his head turning around 45 degrees away from the window. Sams face is well lit and there is another smooth progression from light to dark tones.
Shutter Speed: 1/13sec
F Value: 7.1

Unfortunately for the outdoor part of the lab the sun hid away behind the clouds and it was a challenge to control the light as there was little to no light. So instead we took this shot indoors in the corridors using the lights inside. This shot was taking under the corridor light and to make it more bright I used a reflector and held it under the subject and the light.
